Register to Paint – May 5th

MAY 5TH LOTTERY

A lottery will be conducted on May 5 for the remaining 50 spots. Each year, on May 1, 3, and 5, the volunteers at LPAC open registration for Artists of the Wall, and the slots fill up in less than ten minutes. This year, we are piloting a lottery to give all community members a chance to participate.

Artists of the Wall is on June 20 and 21, 2026. Spots are large and can take two days to paint, so we require registrants to check in before noon on Saturday, June 20, or make other arrangements with the organizers. No applicants can check in after 11 a.m. on June 21.

Rules and Process

  • One entry per household. If you enter more than once per household, all your entries could be deleted without notice.
  • The lottery will be open between 8AM and 5PM on May 5.
  • Applicants will be selected by a random number generator by LPAC volunteers.
  • By 6PM on May 6, those chosen in the lottery will receive a password-protected form to register and pay for their Artists of the Wall spot from loyolaparkac@gmail.com.
  • Registration must be completed by the time listed in the registration notice or we will head to the next randomly selected applicants.
  • Registration will prioritize residents of Rogers Park area ZIP codes.
  • The price for each spot is $45 which includes paint.

If you can’t make it, we’ll keep you on a waiting list and send you information about any walk-up slots.

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR!

  • I understand that all work created in conjunction with the Artists of the Wall Festival may be photographed and documented for use by the Loyola Park Advisory Council and the Chicago Park District and that these photographs may be used for future promotional purposes by LPAC and CPD.
  • Artists must register in person and start painting by Noon on Saturday, June 20 or your space will be forfeited. Your mural should be in progress and painting started by Noon. There will be no refunds given on forfeited spaces. You must contact loyolaparkac@gmail.com with any special requests.
  • Only one space is allowed per family/group to allow more people to participate in the fest. Please refrain from special requests to be next to a specific person. If two people agree to trade spaces in person at the festival, it is up to you to notify Registration of the change. Prizes will be awarded to the name we have recorded to the space.
  • Spaces vary in shape, size, and location and are assigned randomly. Unless another participant agrees to trade spaces, the volunteers running the event will not exchange spaces.
  •
